19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
This verse is one of the most practical we will ever encounter in the Bible. Every one of us faces needs in our lives; at times, they are beyond our own means. Those are not the times to become anxious or to panic. Nor should we give up in defeat. It is at these times that God wants to draw from His unlimited storehouse to meet our need as only He can.
Do you believe God can meet the needs of your finances? Your health? Your children? Your parents? Your Church? Scripture says you will never face a need for which God's provision is not more than adequate. This promise appears over and over in Scripture, ( Psalms 116:6. Hebrews 4:16, Matthew 6:8, Psalms 69:33). If you are not experiencing God's bountiful provision, what is the problem? Is the difficulty with God? Or could it be that you do not really believe that God stands ready to meet your every need?
Every resource of God is available to any child of God who will believe Him. No one has ever exhausted God's supply nor suffered a shortfall trusting Him. Unfortunately, some Christians live as if God's abundant resources were not available to them. They are children of the King, but they live like beggars! Would the people close to you affirm that your life gives evidence of an unwavering belief that God will do what He has said?- Experiencing God- Henry Blackaby
There are times even today that I live check to check and wonder occasionally how this or that will be paid and I am 45 years old! When I was younger I had all the dreams of having abundant wealth by this age and living the "dream" without much in the way of demands upon my cash-flow. Then, life slapped me and said: "Dude! Wake up! You are dreaming!! Now, hurry up and get on with REALITY!"
I do not know exactly where my mentality changed but I know it wasn't terribly long ago. It came to me that being "well off" was not about money, status or possessions; it was about my relationships with God and others. I do much better with my relationship with God than I do with others, a flaw that many in my bloodline of the Long family show evidence of struggling with. Thank goodness for Facebook! LOL
We would do much better in life, and would feel much less stress if we would truly place our needs, on a daily basis, into the hands of God and then trust that He will fulfill them as He see fit according to His great master plan. However, that will require our paradigm, (the way we mentally see things) to shift from what we think the answer needs to be; to a point of acceptance of what God's sees the answer as. But you might say: "He didn't give me the job I know my family needed." "He didn't save the life of a friend I was praying for!" "My __________ died way too early and He could have stopped it!" "I don't have enough food to go the week and they are going to shut off my utilities!" These might all be very true; but you do not know the rest of the story! God's side of the story that holds all the unknown's from us!!
God knows all these thing and even more about the details surrounding them. YOU HAVE TO TRUST HIM; not just in the good times. You see, faith is not faith unless it is alive and well in the bad times. When things are confusing, questionable, frustrating and you feel like you are stretched in so many ways you might soon break; quit trying so hard and put that much effort into praying and seeking comfort and direction in your current situation.
Would your friends say that you believe God and trust His provisions in the roughest part of life, or do they see you fretting, worrying and visibly shaken during times of stress, (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and or financial)? Trust that God will take care of you, because guess what..... In all of the times you felt you had things under control and were providing for your family; that was really God, you just mistakenly took the glory and satisfaction rightfully due Him. The Bible tells us that ALL good things come from God!!
Tip: Be surer of God then you are of yourself.
Remember: God's got this!!!
