Grace-----God's Amazing Grace!!!

John 14: 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

So here it is. Plain as day: The direction for life has been charted for us.

Our way in life is to be in God's will at all times. How do you do that? Where is it written? How can I find what is made specifically for me? All very valid questions with one very simple answer: Follow Jesus every day!

Now for some, that might sound a bit simplistic. We as intelligent humans can't have such an easy answer to such a deep question as the will for someones life from God the Father! Sure we can! It is we humans that have contorted and added to the Gospel since the beginning of any gathering of religious people ever began! Let's look at a bit of evidence to support my statement of simplicity, (actually it is God's statement as we will soon understand).

Let's look back at the disciples as they can easily represent most of us in principle today. Did God have a plan/ a will for their lives? Of course He did. When did that began to take laser focus? When Jesus encountered them and said: "Follow me". Did they then, daily, have a better idea for what the will of God was for their lives? Absolutely! Some were even given a glimpse of what that "will" was when Jesus spoke to them and said, "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men".

Next we have to realize that they did not become Fishers of Men over night. Their was a time of learning, mountaintop and valley low experiences just like there is to be with us. Let's face it friends, after a 3 1/2 year intensive Master's Theology course walking daily with Jesus a few of them still struggled with what they would do after He died because some lost focus. However, once they were reunited with the Savior prior to His ascension it all came into back into focus and they Peter and John, (being the most remembered in the New Testament Church of the original disciples) went on to build and fortify the New Testament Church! Do you think they figured out God's will for their lives? I would say a resounding: YES!!

So, where does that leave us? First, to know God's will in our life we have know God by daily following, talking to being open to Jesus. Second, we need to ask Him to reveal His will for us, that day. Notice I did not say for our life but only for our day. This generally becomes a stumbling block for people because we want to know it all, quickly, from the beginning to the end; unfortunately God does not always work that way. I personally feel the reason might be because He knows us so well! He knows that if He revealed the entire plan for us, all at once we would do one of the following things: 1. Have a heart-attack. 2. Run and go try to launch into whatever it was to get it done and massively mess it up by using our own interpretation of how it should be.. 3. Become sacred and turn away. or 4. Figure that we are too good or bad to do such a thing and turn away.

What we have to realize is this: God's revealing of His will for us is a process; not a one time act. God knows exactly what has to happen to and through us so that we are prepared for whatever we are called to do. It took years of preparation and stumbling for Peter to receive from Jesus the full story of what he was to be and where he was to go. Why? Because it was finally time for His eyes to be open. His heart and mind had been prepared through experiences to the point that he was ready to fulfill God's full will for Him.

How did Peter get that way? It finally sunk into that old selfish mind that it was not about him and he didn't know best. He finally realized what John was talking about in John 14:6: Jesus is the way. Jesus is the way everyday, in every way for everything. God's will for you my friend starts with a call from the Savior that you answer and then you follow Him each day. You ask Him to show you as the day dawns where you should be and what His will is for you that day. He will lead you into some amazing things if you will follow.

If you are struggling right now with what you are to be doing in God's will for your life, do this one thing: SLOW DOWN take ONE DAY AT A TIME. The disciples had to be prepared for the ultimate will of God in their lives over years, and we are no different. Ask yourself this: Are you FULLY following God everyday by giving your will over to Him? You can't fulfill two different plans in your life. It is His or your's, your choice. If you feel you do not have time to wait for the grand revealing and you want to know it now, maybe you should check your motivation for finding God's will. Is it so you can glorify God, or self? Is it just because you want to know or is it so you can grow in Jesus?

I will tell you the first part of God's will for you, it is the same for all of us; FOLLOW JESUS. He is the way, the truth and the life. No one gets to the Father except through Him. SOOOOO, the Fathers ultimate will is for you to be in the Kingdom forever with Him. Right?

Guess that starts by following Jesus everyday and allowing Him to guide your life. Guess that also means, once again, that getting to the Kingdom is about a relationship! In this case it truly is about WHO you know not WHAT you know. I am not discounting biblical knowledge in any way, shape or form! Let me explain: You see, the WHO you know will fill your heart and mind with WHAT you should know as you daily follow Him and grow in God's will for you!!

Remember: God's Got This!!
