Deut. 1:21 Look, the Lord your God has set the land before you; go up and possess it, as the Lord God of your fathers has spoken to you; do not fear or be discouraged.’
Often times in our relationships we give gifts to the other person of things they want, need or just like. We do that because we care for them and we want them to be as happy as we can make them. Sometimes we do it because they are discouraged and need a little pick me up. If you have been on the receiving end of these types of gifts you fully understand how wonderful it can be to know how much you mean to that other person!
When we enter into the amazing relationship with God as we accept His Son Jesus into our life and grow daily with Him, a new door opens to us that was not attainable prior to that acceptance; The Promised Land.
Our Scripture today is from the story of when the children of Israel were told to go and inhabit the land God had promised to them, Canaan. However, even though they knew God promised that land to them AND He had delivered them numerous times from harm prior to this, they still allowed their human judgement, thoughts and fears to keep them from going as told and occupying their new home. They were their worst enemy.
God has promised Heaven to all those that enter into a growing, loving relationship with His Son Jesus. Heaven is ours my friend!! Do not let your human fears, trials of this day, giants you are facing and your "logic" to cause you to lose out on the 2nd best gift you could ever receive, (the first is salvation of course!)! Just as the last part of the verse above tells us; "do not fear or be discouraged".
God has set a land before us and tells us to go up and possess it! If He has provided the land, and he has; He will also provide the way! Don't let your circumstances tell you anything else. You are on a journey to the Promised Land and yes you will encounter fearful things along the way; discouragement will set in no doubt, but don't let it determine the outcome!
Do not fear or be discouraged as you head to your new Home today! Why? Because just as in the days of old: God's Got This!!!
